What's in a name?

Wow, finally getting on this blog thing. I know, I know, the Facebook crowd has already come in and taken over what is now "cool" on the internet, but I figured I should jump on this blog band wagon anyways.
I have never really thought about how difficult it would be to pick a stinking' name for my blog. Even worse, after I found a name that wasn't taken, and that I could live with, I had to further come up with an address name, which seemed to all be taken as well. Hopefully this one will be fine.
I thought about using one of my nicknames. Now, with name like Pittman, I have been called a bunch of things. On top of that, since I am one half of a set of identical twins, people have always thought up nicknames to call, well, both of us because they couldn't tell us apart. If and when you come up to me in public and call me "Pitt" or "Pitty" or even "Pittman," I probably know that you are not quite sure which one I am. I had a great conversation with someone this past weekend, who, at the end of our conversation, thanked me and told me to say hi to David... For those of you who may be reading this, I AM DAVID. My brother's name is Elliott! Apparently, we look alike.
Back to this blog stuff. I even thought about going with my middle school nickname... Now everyone knows that Middle School isn't exactly every child's most wonderful years, in that most middle schoolers are not known for their gentle bits of caring and thoughtfulness towards others. Among the nicknames that I earned in Middle School, one of the most interesting ones that I received came from my initials. My full name is David Michael Pittman. Now, while the initials DMP do not make a civilized sound by themselves, with some 13 year old imagination, DMP turns into DUMPY! Dumpy?!?! Are you kidding me. That makes me sound like I have some serious, well, gastrointestinal issues, which I assure you, are quite normal. Eh. What can you do?
